Music Co-ordinator

As County Music Co-ordinator, my role is to :

  • Encourage a love for and appreciation of all types of music amongst girls and their Leaders through trainings, meetings and events.
  • Build up a nucleus of singers/players who can be called upon to help at any special events.
  • Encourage all to be willing to join in all things musical around the County

Scout and Guide National Orchestra Courses

All applicants must be:

  • A member of the Scout or Guide Association
  • Aged 13-30 on the 1st August each year
  • Proficient player of at least one orchestral instrument (minimum Grade 5)

If you are interested in signing up email djnsgso@yahoo.co.uk  and to read more about the orchestra visit www.nsgso.org.uk   There is also information on the next Orchestra course in June Guiding.  The course is 2-9 August in Chester.  You need to be aged 13 to 25 with a minimum of Grade Five proficiency.  Do let you County Music Co-ordinator know if you are applying.

Where can I enjoy music and singing but too far to travel?

Get a group together and someone from the County music team will come and assist. You would need to give at least a month’s notice.

I can’t sing so we don’t put music in our programme.

You don’t have to sing to have fun with music. There are various ways around this. Attend a County training or ask for a Fireside training.
