Tavy Division includes the market town of Tavistock, the village of Yelverton and surrounding smaller villages on the western side of Dartmoor.
The towns and villages are fortunate to be among Devon’s beautiful country, with a mix of farmland, woodlands and the moor itself. Walking, climbing, riding and other outdoor pursuits are well provided for. Some of the many small specialist shops have contributed to Tavistock’s growing reputation as a ‘Good food’ centre.
The area also includes historical sites from all periods, including Buckland Abbey. Tavistock is also part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site, as the area is rich in mining history.
